The Air Jordan 12 (XII) Retro - Playoffs (Black / Varsity Red) was released on October 25, 2003, and retailed for $135. They feature a black leather upper with red rands along the sides which feature a lizard skin print, ala the air Jordan 2 (II). The red outsole does not match the red used on the upper, but the shoe still blends well. The shoe itself has some history behind it, as it ins inspired by the Nisshoki which is the Japanese rising sun flag, as well as a 19th century women's dress boot. The stitching along the leather upper radiate outward like rays from the sun. This particular colorway is adored by Jordan fanatics.
